Are we counting discoveries or inventions...

fire, alcohol, penecillin = discoveries.
wheel, vacuum tube, engines, transistor = inventions.

Calandar / Time Keeping devices (sundial, clock, etc)

We obviously didn't invent time, but we needed a way of measuring it and predicting seasons, sun rise/set, used it for navigation, etc. I think our concept of time and creating a device being able to measure it was probably one of the more important inventions in human history. I didn't see it mentioned though.

No. It is just one example of the thousands of "marital aid" patents that have passed through the system.

Back when I was a patent examiner at the PTO, I occasionally had to examine applications in the marital aid art. Made for some interesting searching.
