What are the steps for leasing a business space?

My friend and I are going to open up a cellular phone business. It's just a small shop enough to hold us, a few displays and customers. For now we are only sticking to a really small area but an area that is well populated.

Can anyone tell me what the procedure usually is?

There is a place that a cell phone company was at but from what I heard they were closed down due to not paying their rent. That place has a huge sign up saying for lease, call #.

Will some type of insurance be needed? If we open as an LLC will that be ok?

I don't have a lot of knowledge about opening a business but we are getting a lot of guidance from his family and my family. Thanks a lot in advance for any advice that you give.

Peace

At the very least you will need a business license, a resale license and liability insurance in case someone slips and falls in your store.

hmm I would be incorporated first. get an accountant to help you do that, trust me.

I would ask the accountant or another business owner.

or maybe call the number and use a different name?

No need to incorporate.

An LLC would be a good idea.

The landlord will tell you what insurance you need and that will be in the lease.

RETAIN A LAWYER TO REVIEW THE LEASE BEFORE SIGNING IT THOUGH!
