My very first computer was an 4.77MHz XT with 640kb of ram, a 2400 baud modem and an EGA video card with a VGA shades of grey monitor.

My very first self-assembled computer was a 486SX/25 with 4mb ram, TWO(!!) 40mb harddrives and a VESA VGA video card.

I quickly upgraded it to a 486DX2/66 and added another 4mb of ram.

Then I upgraded to a 486DX4/100 and a 210mb HDD.

Then I got a Am5x86/133, 2.5gb HDD and 24mb of ram.

I used that computer FOREVER.....

From there, I got a K6-2/300 and a WD Expert 18GB and a Creative Labs RivaTNT1.

Then I got into overclocking and upgraded to a K6-3/400 @ 450, 384mb ram..

I had that computer for about 3 years, until about 2 months ago.. when I got a Duron 850 @ 1GHz. Still have 384mb ram, still using the RivaTNT1..

But I have an 80gb, 60gb, 20gb and still using that old WD Expert 18gb drives, now. ;)

Heh..When you lay it all out like that.. it seems strange. That's covering like 8 years.. heh.

Commodore 64 and a 14 inch color monitor. I still use the monitor as a small TV since the RCA video input let me use a VCR as a tuner!!!!!

Hm.

I think our first was a handmedown 286. It had 2 colors, but that's I needed for my beloved lemmings classic! [edit] Oh and space invaders! And star trek! hours of entertainment between the three.
