Hey all,

Just got a new PC system with all black / charcoal color scheme... Running an old set of Altec Lansing AC-48's as the sound system and they are the old beige color...

More than just color, I noticed in Bestbuy last week that the $50.00 pair of Altec Lansing speakers sounded MUCH crisper and clearer than these do.

I am looking to get a nice pair of speakers and am not really interested in a 6.1 setup as my home stereo already handles that with no trouble... I really just want to hear what some folks here have had good luck with regarding speakers that can handle music well for listening. Looking for a good sub and mains I guess...

Anyone care to share their experiences/opinions?

Thanks in advance!

You can keep in the sub 20 realm. I picked up my Planar Media 14s for 10$ on ebay.

Sub $20?

Do they make good speakers in that range?

Spend another $30 and get something nice. Besides a monitor, the speakers are one of the least upgraded parts of a PC. I've been through 4 CPU upgrades in 6 years and still have the same speakers and monitor in use.

HAHAHA... OMG!!! I meant $200.00 range, NOT 20.00 Range!!! Typo!!! :)

Guess that opens the door for many more options, eh? :) :) :)

THE speakers? S2 Midilands, by far. they're not produced anymore, but are absolutely awesome (unless you have $$$$ to blow, then there will be something better)

I have the Klipsch 2.1 Pro Medias, they are alright but I prefer my Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphone with the Echo Indigo I/O card. I would highly reccomend them...
