A free vpn service ,vpnbook is recommended on some sites. But since it is a free service , i have some doubts.

Is there any risk of using a free vpn? what can happen in worst case scenario?

I know they are slower than paid vpn services, so you get what you pay for in that area.
but security wise, what can happen ? I'm going to use openVPN to use those free vpn services.

There's an old saying I've heard about free services that rings especially true here: If you're not the customer, you're the product.

Among other things, there's a risk that your data is not secure. If your purpose with a VPN is spoof your location to watch Netflix from out of the country, it probably won't matter. But if you're actually concerned about the security of what you're transmitting, I wouldn't use a free VPN. Free ones also tend to be dog-slow in my experience.
