What are the Odds the Apple Store will have an Ipod?

Every BB is sold out in my area....was thinking about making the 45min drive out to the apple store to get me a 60gig black ipod....what are the chances they will actually have one. I would call first but A)they are currently closed and B)Id have to leave before they open to get back in time to go to work.....

Just a week or so ago. Think you missed the xmas cutoff if you wanted it by then but it was really quick turn around. Got mine engraved also.

They 2 apple stores near in LI, NY had tons of them.. while BB/Target are usually sold out

it is the apple store after all, if they wanna make money theyll have em....its prolly part of their strategy, sell sell to stores around the holidays so more people gotta goto apple store

It is easy to get an ipod. Order straight from apple.com, they are shipped directly from the factory in China. I ordered 1 on Sunday night with 2 day shipping (extra $12), it shipped from Shangai Monday morning and was sitting on my doorstep in suburban Massachusetts this morning (Wednesday morning). Shangai -> Anchorage -> Indianapolis -> Boston -> My house in 48 hours for $12.

 

I was at BB today and some obnoxious lady was flipping out on the sales guys because she claims someone told her that there were lots of ipods left in stock. Of course there weren't any left and she was demanding that they "find one in the backroom", or else.
The manager came over and told her that they have been out of all ipods for a few weeks and if she would like to wait for one to come in, she is more than welcome.
She left in a huff.

yeah, i called the BBs and they all told me up front "there is none left"....i DID however find a Target in a small town about 30 min south of me that has 3 left in stock...5 min before closing tonight, So im hoping if i get there at opening tomorrow morning I can catch one of em....

Haha so wierd, mine made the same path almost, Shangai -> Anchorage -> Indianapolis -> Seattle -> My house found it odd that it went to Indianapolis after Anchorage.

The Apple Store at the Grove (Los Angeles) had TONS of iPods (all flavors) last week. They even had a special "iPod station" with its own cash register, for people who only wanted to buy an iPod and get the hell out. Sweet idea I think.

The Apple Store ended up having a TON of them...and got 10% off for being a college student. $394 after tax...not too shabby!

All asia shipments go through Anchorage for refuel. So its really a pitstop
And the Indianapolis Hub is the Hub for international/domestic
