What are the most important buttons to have on a remote control?

I am programming the remote for my htpc/ media center. I prefer to use Zoom Player to watch movies, DVDs with. There are a wealth of features, and a limited number of buttons to assign them too. Which features (aside from the usual play/pause/ fast forward/ stop) should I include?

For normal TV watching I adore my "previous channel" button.
It's really handy for watching 2 programs at once
