Sneakers, aka "tennis shoes,' or dress shoes? 😕
 
never owned them but i tried on a pair of todd's once and holy crap! like butter molded to your feet. a bit pricey though
 
Amazingly, some pair of cheapo $15 slip-on style sneakers from Wal-Mart.

I picked them up in a pinch, worn them every day since.
 
Nike Combat Boots. They were awesome, comfy, and protective. Durable till my g/f's dog got a hold of them. They were a gift so I have no idea how much they cost. You could run in them w/o feeling like you were wearing bricks, and they'd grip any surface. A few years older but like these.
