I am really torn between purchasing a laptop with a 17" monitor and a 15.4" monitor, this laptop will be used to surf the net, movies, email, games and streaming. Which size monitor do you think will be best? Thank you.

If you are on a budget, obviously get the cheaper laptop...if not, go for the widescreen, i have a widescreen, and i like it A LOT. But now i am sick of laptops, i have had laptops for 3 years now, and im finally getting a desktop. If you just plan on surfing the net, a widescreen is nice because you can fit more of a webpage on the screen ect, but computers eventually are never for just surfing the net, so a desktop might be a better (and cheaper) way to spend your money :D

depends if you need to take this laptop with you. most 17inch laptops are called desktop replacements meaning your not likely to carry it out everywhere as opposed to 15inch laptops. but yes games and just about everything else in my opinion looks great on a 17 inch screen.

You should find out how much a 17" display will shave off the battery life, compared to smaller displays. I'm not familiar with consumption stats, but it stands to reason that a larger display will eat up more power.

Like knothead34 said, a 17" is pretty much a desktop replacement. If you're carrying the thing around a lot, a 17" is pretty huge. Even a 15.4" is pretty big. I'm having trouble deciding between a 15.4" and a 12.1". The only thing I like about the 15.4" is theresolution, but I'd much rather have a 4 lb. 12.1" laptop.
