What are the main difference in culture between the East and West coast (US)?

The south west is kind of relaxed and laid back. I really love it here and the climate is great.
So, I heard from some people that the East coast is different. Stuck-up, faster, snobby.

So, how is it?

I know that.

I meant different in lifestyle. How people meet and socialize.

one example:

East coast, especially in the south, has very active churches, that's really why you can't buy alcohol in some places. Christian churches really have no overwhelming significance on the west coast. Sure, there are churchgoing people who believe thier respective churches, but there's no pervasive church influence in society.

I am not a practicing Christian.
Well, I had a thread about Virginia earlier because I might have to move there. That's why I am asking.

Can't buy alcohol in some entire counties in Kentucky. Don't know if they have that in any other states.

I just know people who have moved over, and who have visited.

Also, the east coast does not seem to comprehend the concept of "left turn lane", they use those stupid circles, and every other road is a toll road. And WTF is a township anyway?

There are a number of "dry counties" in Texas. Though some places get around the laws by loopholes.

Rap music for sure, huge presence around the west coast. Not the rap that's on TV though, it's amazing how much music goes unheard on TV that comes out on the west coast. I suppose it's like the local bands that play at bars in different states, you know, those bands that put out cds but nobody really knows about them, their always on CMC though(California Music Channel). Sonoma is cool, it's kinna where the older people of cali reside, not much cultural diversity, kinna like farm country pretty much. As for the rest of the west......., dunno really, I see ghettos, rich areas, areas nobody knows about, normal for the most part.

huh? i think you have it messed up, it has a huge presence in the south, but not in southern california. Southern California is a complete mix of all genre's I'd say. Raves/Clubs with hiphop/trance, underground hip hop, surf music and jazz (LA's a hotspot for Jazz). Just look at all the socal bands - Korn (maybe not.. bakersfield), Sugar Ray, No Doubt, Blink 182, Sublime, Linkin Park just to name a few off the top of my head. Incubus/Hoobastank are from california, alien ant farm...

Circles? I've lived in Pennsylvania all my life, and I'll admit I don't have a clue what circles you're referring to. Around here (outside Pittsburgh), just about every busy intersection has a left turn lane. The exception is in the city, where many of the streets are too narrow to put in an extra lane just for turns. Instead, they don't allow parking for a quarter of a block before the intersection, and use the space for a right-turn-only lane.

Townships? Don't you have those on the Left coast?
