What are the fastest Hard Drives?

Probably to a load of people this is going to seem really stupid but what is the fastest hard drive standard - Raid , Scsi , ATA 66. If Anyone has a preference give me a reply.

Which hard drive would u reccommend and is the cost over ATA 66 worth it for a desktop PC?
 
It depends on what apps you're going to be running, but if you have to ask the question then you probably don't need too exotic a setup (like 2 @ 15K rpm X15's x RAID 0 !!). A compromise setup might be with a couple of ATA/66 HDD's in a striped RAID 0 using a Promise or equivalent expansion card. I've seen reviews of the latest Promise card ( http://www.promise.com/ ), I believe, but I can't find the links. Note the interesting conclusion at:
