What are the drawback of Windows Media Player 9?

I recall hearing a bunch of caveats regarding WMP 9 but I don't recall what they are.

I just bought Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition and I've heard that WMP 9 is needed to make the program work. I have no idea why though.

Is it WMP9 that had the text in the EULA about MS being able to do wacky stuff to your computer?

It works okay for me. But why can't it do simple stuff like play one song at a time in your media library, instead of the entire list?

Yep, one of my issues as well. It just takes too damn many clicks to do simple tasks. Bloated and clunky to use interface too.

If I want to watch movie clips - Quicktime is the best viewer.
If I want to listen to music - Winamp v2.XX is the best player.
If I want to make MP3's of my music I'll use EAC & Lame.

I prefer to use three independent products to do a specific job well instead of bloating it together and making a hard to use, overly busy interface.

But that's just me.

I don't uderstand why people say it takes too long to do what they want. It's so incredibly simple that I wonder what these peopel think of drinking a can of soda :Q I can find no drawbacks to WMP9. It's easy to use, it's pretty quick, it looks good. What else do you want?

It works well enough for me, easy to copy music from a cd, copy music to a cd or even playback music. I just wish it was a little easier to make a playlist.

works well for me, but with wmp9, it has the digit rights management software in it that can do the tracking and what not.
