What are the disadvantages of the Centurion 5 vs the 3000B

I am a light user and I want a new case for my P4 3.0, 1 MB, 9700 Pro, 2 HD, 2 DVD.

My best bet would probably be a 3000B but its front door is a big turn off for me. I have seen a Centurion 5 and like its look. It seems to be much less popular than the 3000B.

What are its main disadvantages vs the 3000B?

Would a 3000B be much better?

Link the cases you are refering to plz.

The CM Cent.5 has no provision for a front intake fan, the Antec 3000 does, for a 120mm fan as a matter of fact.
Running a P4 machine is reason enough to seek a case with a good cross flow of air. Intels are called toasters for a reason (I have a P4).

If your willing to spend $75 on a CM case, you can find a doorless case with 120mm fans if you look. Might find one you like better ;)

3000B is cheaper, and I personally don't mind a door since it's easier for the "clean" look. Plus I hardly ever use my CD bay, and leave my PC on almost everyday.

Cent5 can have a window if that's something u want.

Newegg has the Centurion 5 CAC-T05 for $50 + shipping right now. It's the case I'm going to order for my upgraded parts. It does have an place for a front-intake fan, and actually includes a 80mm one, along with the 120mm exhaust fan in the rear. Also, if need be, a 120mm intake can be easily mounted in the 5.25" drive area, unless you have 3+ drives.

I personally prefer the "door-less" design, but that's just a matter of preference. That, along with the tool-less design, is why I chose this case over the 3000B

Actually, the Centurion 5 does have a 80mm intake fan and a 120mm exhaust. My wife has one in her Accounting office that I built for her. I really like the elegant look of black with aluminum accents.

i've built computers in both of those (3000B for me, Centurion for my dad), and they're both great choices.

The 3000B is quieter than the Centurion as they come stock, since you can turn down the 120mm in the 3000B to its med or low setting and have it pretty quiet. I have no clue if you plan on changing fans, so i just thought i'd offer up that info anyways.

The Centurion seems a bit sturdier, but thats mostly because the 3000B has the plastic front, where as the Centurion is just about all stiff metal mesh in the front. They're both very well made, especially considering the price.

I have 2 Antec TriCool 120mm mounted in my 3000B, run on low setting, vs his undervolted Vantec Stealths, 80mm in front and 120mm in back.......my 3000B is quieter, but not by very much at all....i just pick up on that 80mm sound pretty quick. Get some Nexus fans, you probably won't hear much of anything in either case other than some quiet air movement, but that would also depend on your cpu and vga cooling fans.

Both are great cases in my opinion. Just comes down to personal tastes, and whether or not you use your optical drives enough that a door is a pain. i thought i'd hate having a door at first, but i've gotten to where i'm quite fond of it. of course, that might also be because i'm hiding two beige optical drives behind it :)

SilentPCReview has both of these cases listed in their "Recommended" section.

My Centurion 5 also has an 80mm front intake fan that does a wonderful job of QUIETLY cooling my harddrives.
