It doesn't say on the actual metal? Mine does. Perhaps it's in back and you just can't see it :)

Anyway, Green is speaker, pink is mic. Closest to the joystick port is headphone, furthest is digital out. One between mic and digital is line in.

xxxxxxxx__O_____O_____O______O_______O
Joyport___HP___Speak__Mic__Line-in_Dig out

I believe that's right... just from memory though.

I'm getting an SB Live soon...when you say digital out, is that Optical out, or SPDI/F?

Definitely not the optical out I'm used to seeing on stereos.. Looked like a standard headphone sized jack.

I've been wondering about this since I got a Sblive! Value when they first came out... knew I was missing a connection... :)
Maybe I'll buy a new one so I can have that digital out...

Go here click on manuals at the left side (this is for SBlive 1024)but the connections at back I believe are all the same & colour coded.

My x-gamer isn't color coded and it was retail. Any reason for that?

Optical out and digital out are the same thing basically, Digital out is Sp/DIF and the optical out is TOSLINK, they can both carry the same information on the sb live (AC-3 and PCM), and are just about of the same quality,

about the colour coding, my sb live platinum does not have any either

Optical out uses light to transmit information - and it is SP/DIF (toslink is the name of the plug, its the square one). The one on the live value is a different digital out (its a mini-plug digital out) then on the x-gamer and mp3 versions (I forgot how). I'm pretty sure you can get an adapter for the mini-plug digital out to convert it to something (not sure what, forgot that also).

I think some of the x-gamers and mp3 ver. are just gold plated plugs instead of color coded.
