What are the changes for the new cc0 stepping?

I am unclear on this. Do they offer anything over present steppings? Should I wait to get my two matched 700Mhz PIII's until cco comes out? Or should I get cb0's right now, since cco's seem to be having problems (the 1.13Ghz processor is a cc0).

The only cC0 stepping CPU out right now is the ill-fated 1.133 GHz P3, although others are to follow. See:

You might have quite a wait. The stepping only really matters if you are overclocking or, as in your case, using dual processors. With dual processors it is recommended that you use CPU's from the same stepping and with the same speed and S-spec - and again the stepping may not matter unless you are overclocking. See under "Compatibility" here:

I believe the cC0 stepping just calls for a die shrink to 90mm. That allows a higher MHz limit. That's it. The cB0 stepping had far more changes (which carried over to cC0 of course).

Interestingly, according to the P3 specification update, compatability of a cC0 stepping P3 with one of another stepping is listed as 'TBD' (to be determined). Use of cB0 and cA2 steppings together is not a problem.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to interpret the compatability table because some rows and columns seem to have been interchanged.
