Yesterday on a 8 lane toll plaza, some lady w/o ezpass decided to drive across 4 lanes to go to the cash lane...

basically i had to slam on the brakes and my notebook went flying from the rear to front seat..

At work, my notebook wasn't working properly.. there was no noise from the hdd.. so I decided just to reformat the drive.. it format okay and install windows fine...

last night and today, it just hangs a lot.. i know that if you have bad hdd , it'll retry reading and try to work.. but simple tasks, like opening IE and shutting down.. it'll hang for good 10-20 min..

i have another 2.5" drive ill try at home.. but do you guys think there could be some other damages ? it was in a padded bag... im just hoping its the hdd.. those are cheap anyway...

i just rebooted it and its working.. but dont know for how long..

Was it on?

Hard drives can take a fair amount of shock when they aren't on. The symptoms do sound like a bad hard drive though. Have you made sure that the RAM (if it's in a slot) has been seated back ok?
