I work for a HT company...we use basic shielded 12 gauge wire on everything from a 2,000 - 100,000 setup. Monster, MIT, etc are all a big waste of $$ in my opinion.
But you've never done a true double blind test either, I'll wager.
Opinion < OBSERVATION.

An HT company, pro sound company, event rental house have different reasons for the goods they choose as opposed to an audio enthusiast or "purist" interested in the highest performance products possiblem and the subsequent bragging rights.
An analogy I use is it's like buying a HUMMER versus a Caravan to go get groceries and the kids to school. Either vehicle will do the job, but some people's reasons for buying either will be vastly different. When "penis size" is at stake, you're buying the Hummer, wether it suits the need or not.

Oh please. Don't bring in this whole bs saying how it matters, because I could bet you probably couldn't even realize what you're working with. It's just like people and their Vodkas. I've done double blinds with Belvedere and Grey Goose, and it's a pretty hard call even then...
Well, then you're wrong. Apparently reading comprehension doesn't matter either.
Did you read my OBSERVATIONS I gave above?
I related, in exquisite detail the difference to whom such things do matter, to wit, it doesn't matter to people who sell and rent goods and services and it does to those who think it determines their systems worth, Audiophiles, uber hobbiests, and the like.

I'm not so pretentious as to try to recreate the exact feeling I had then, as that was over 10 years ago, but I stand by my observations. The MITs and Kimbers were more accurate, to my ear and several others there, and when I added the MITs to the monitor setup in the studio there was a marked improvement, most notably, the amount of time we could spend working before listener fatigue set in.

Because when working for Journey, I was involved in a double blind test set up and run for Jon Caine, Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Herbie Herbert, et al and I could INDEED tell the difference and they, the people to whom such things mattered, could tell and could afford to include them in the system.
You don't have to believe me, but DO NOT say my experience didn't occur, or that I'm lying, or that I can't tell the difference. By doing so, you don't invalidate my observation, but you do diminish YOUR credibility by showing you're not interested in anyone's experinces save your own.
By doing so, you include yourself in the bunch that says a tree that falls in the woods, without your direct observation, makes no sound.
