Since i got slaughtered in the other forum (general hardware) for putting this there... i am now reasking my question...

I am looking to buy some driving games for a PC (gf3, ddr amd xp). Also, i want to buy a steering wheel/pedals.. I was thinking about getting a logitech force feedback wheel and i was wondering what everybodies opinions were on those.

Realism is a good thing in these games but other suggestions are very welcome also - thanks in advance

GTA series, Need for speed series, Grand turismo 3 is suppose to come out on pc soon(don't know if it is or not), nascar4, driving looks pretty cool as well.
As for the wheele I am not sure on, never used one on pc. Used one on the ps and it had pedals and all. It was pretty cool.

Not quite what you asked for, but I like Superbike 200x series. You can race a motorcycle on the great race tracks of the world. The realism is great and it works very well with just the keyboard. And they are pretty cheap.

I have an Act-Labs Force RS. It's an awesome wheel and they have a shifter and performance pedals (clutch!) for it. And you can buy different cartridges so you can use the wheel on consoles but they don't have a PS2 or Xbox one yet (dunno if they'll ever!).

I Like NFS Porsche Unleashed, Colin McRae Rally 2, F1 2001 (I don't like F1 but there's a pretty good GT mod for it). Nascar 4 is good if you're into nascar.

Well I don't have many racing game for my pc but here are a few that you might like and a few I would stay awayfrom.

-Need for speed (all of them) -- They are ok by the driving physics are horrible.
-Test Drive 6 --- Dont get it, trust me its horrible.
-Test Drive V Rally -- I only have this on dreamcast (and I dont know if its on pc at all) But this is a great game.
-Test Drive LeMans -- Same thing as the V Rally
-Grand Trusimo 3 -- The graphics are lacking but they physics are fairly nice.
-Viper Racing -- A fun little game, and can be had for less than 10 dollars.
-Gothem City Racing --- I know this is only for the Xbox right now.. I dont really like the game. You have a limited set of cars and they don't perform right at all. The subaru impreza should understear then over strear but it just drives like the ferarri. (Never drove a ferarri so I can't tell you if that right) :)
-I downloaded a demo of a game Eracing or something like that. This game was a lot of fun and I played it over the internet on my 56k modem just fine.

Well if I think of anything else I will tell you.

Nuts....I think it was the Feb. Maximum PC that did a comparison of several wheel/pedal sets. I just tossed it a couple days ago. I remember they had ~$200 set they loved, and ~$100 set that was a good value. Sorry......didn't read it that closely.

Nascar 2002 from Papyrus was just released, the graphics and most of all physics of this sim are just awesome. Logitech MOMO seems to be a good wheel, i had a Logitech Wingman Formula Force for 2 years, never had any trouble. If money is no odject i'd say get a TSW2 Cup :)

GT3 for the PC should be good, I've heard they have upgraded the graphics so it should be fairly nice.

Porsche Unleashed / Porsche 2000, old but still good. The physics are considerably better than the previous N4Ss, though they are a little odd because so are Porsches.

Colin McRae Rally is good if you like rally cars, there is quite a good field of games for the WRC.

I would avoid Test Drive 6, it lasted about 15 mins on my PC before I wiped it.

GTA3 (grand theft auto 3) is coming out for the PC, Not GT3. (gran turismo 3). It was a rumor. Get over it.

My own favorite is NFS 3 (Hot Pursuit), but I'd buy Motor City Online in a heartbeat if it was single-player ( love the 60's/70's muscle cars)

You want the BEST racing sim available? Get "Grand Prix Legends".

I could talk for hours about how accurate the physics are, how great the online racing is, how I have been racing this game for over 3 years and there is still so much to learn......but the best way to let you know is to show you. Go here and here and download movies that some folks have made of gpl.
It may be 4 years old now but with the updates and addon tracks that are comming out, gpl is the only racing sim you will need. You could spend a lifetime just trying to master the nurburgring..all 14+ miles of it.

I have a Logitech Momo wheel, and can heartily recomend it.

XES - is RIGHT ON that! Must AGREE!
Just built a new high end 'puter - so didn't have my "old" GPL or N3 on this new one and didn't know if I ever would. Went and bought F1 2001 the other day after reading GREAT player reviews and thought it would be nice because I could have never even run it with my old machine. Must say - the Graphics were GREAT - but they whould have put the same effort in programming the controller code - TERRIBLE!
I have now taken off F1 2K and re-installed my "old" GPL and am sure glad I did - found as XES says that there are still MANY "live" sites and updates for this marvelous but realistically difficult driving game - BUT it is a QUALITY piece of work - you feel like a winner, IF you can just do one lap w/o losing it. FEELS so REAL! GPL is here to STAY!
Don't think I'll ever buy another NASCAR Game - N3 was my 2nd buy in that series, and although they continue to LOOK better and better and also handle better - - - for me - I just can't get into OVAL - follow the pack racing - - - it is boring (for me that it). To each his own.
I am waiting till Fall for next Colin MacCrae Rally game.

Have Fun! PS - I use a MS FF Stick and like it much - looking at the new Thrustmaster FF Wheel , like feel of it better than the MS FF.

GPL has just been re-released on a budget label here in the UK for £4.99 (about $6 I think) ..that makes it the bargain of the century=). Softwarefirst sell online with worldwide delivery .....even if it costs 10x the price, it is a bargain.

I am NOW running it on my NEW 'puter w W'XP - - - BUT - - - after I loaded the game, I had to then go to one of the many GPL Sites and download a D3D Rastercizer (sp) so it would run in D3D - - - so now I am running it at resolutions I had never seen before on my old machine. GREAT! Now starting to download sound and graphic tweeks - FUN! U-Bet!

May the NForce B w U !

Rally Trophy!

Rally Masters is a classic also.

I am looking forward to GTA3 but I would hardly class it as realistic :)
