What are the best brands of laptop HDs?

Objectively speaking, I rate Toshiba drives as #1, then Hitachi. The 7200 RPM Hitachi is having some problems - especially in Centrino (Pentium M) laptops. H-P will not even offer them in those machines. It is a heat problem combines with excessive battery power consumption that offsets any gain from the M CPU.

After that it is six of one and half a dozen of the other. 5400 RPM and a big cache is your best option today.
