I am looking for the best set of 5.1 gaming headphones to pair with my Zalman 5.1 headphone amplifier. I have a SB Audigy 2 sound card. Throw me some suggestions if you don't mind!

I have got the zalaman 5.1 headpones which are quite good, although it took my a while to get used to them, but now i can hear other players in sof2 quite easily. My only complaint is the microphone is stupid it clips onto the lead for the headphones and so ends up nowhere near my mouth, so I use a mic with a stand instead.

I have the Speedlink Medusa 5.1 Surround Headset. Bought it for about 1700 CZK, which, if you do the math, is about 70 bucks. I dont have a single gripe against it. I have never been upset with them in ANY way. I've gamed with them heavily - eg eight hours on end, and nothing made me want to remove them. The ear pits are comfortable, well-padded, and absolutely no sweat problems. The headset is just the right weight for you to be able to feel its presence on your head, but not in a distracting way. I stopped noticing it after a few moments of intense Quake III gaming though :D
Surround sound? Pretty decent. Reviews say its the best headset out there if you want surround sound. The subwoofer is extremely powerful considering its size, turning up the volume and bass in some hardcore techno/hardstyle song can make the entire headset shake. No kidding. Best to hold it at arms length when it does that though.
Check some reviews, but as a gamer and music listener I would definitely recommend this headset.

well if all you care about is gaming then sound quality doesnt really matter all that much and any 5.1 should be fine but if oyu listen to lost of music then i would suggest you get a normal pair of headphones as they have MUCH better sound quality but not everyone cares about that. If you want to get normal headphones look for the audio technicas ath-a500 from audiocubes.com or a pair of senns such as the sennenheiser 555/595's are both really good. just my $.02

What green said. I can definitely recommend the AudioTechnica A500s from audiocubes. Really comfortable, nice braided cable, and excellent sound quality.

As the past postr said, Zaleman headphones, and pretty much any gaming 5.1's don't provide very good sound quality. I suggest the Sennheiser HD 597, HD 595, or Grado SR 60/ Grado Sr80.

While the 595s are good, they are closer to $200. The A500s can be had for $116 shipped. Sennheiser isn't the best necessarily, but the have some of the best. Check out head-fi.org.
