What are the best 3D Gaming Glasses?

Beware though.. I got these once for a gift and had to return them. The effect was truly awesome BUT they left my eyes burning after no more than 10 minutes. I imagine much more exposure than 15 min at a time could cause permanent eye strain or damage.

Perhaps this is just my eyes, but be careful in making your decision please.

To compare my eyestrain level to yours, I can typically endure staring at a computer screen for hours on end, but playing Quake 2 (the colors in that game are freaking monotone, I dunno if that's why it does it) I can only take about 45 min max of playtime.

I read an article about 4 months ago in PC World about 3D glasses. They reviewed a few and did an office test on employees working there. Like Brandino said, some people couldnt wear them for very long. The rest had to fight to get each other away from the pc; so they could play games with them too!
I will go to PC World (mag) and find the link for you.

oops---- I believe they said the Elsa's were the best!

Hey Toxic, did you find the article?

So the revelators are the best huh? Are they compatible with all video cards, or just elsa's? I have a V6800.

They should be compatible with most nvidia cards. The eyestrain problem is because the monitors couldn't refresh quick enough.

A refresh rate of 120 or higher is best (800 X 600 I believe). The glasses work by the driver creating a screen for the left eye and one for the right eye. It alternates these images on your screen and the shutters synchronize with the images to create the 3D affect rather than a double image. The human eye can see up to 60 Hz so 120 Hz is sufficient to provide a 60 Hz image for each individual shuttered image. (The image is flashing at 120 but each eye only sees every other image) I had to conciously relax my eyes as if to focus beyond the surface of my monitor to reduce eye strain. The glasses work with nVidia chipsets and do wonders for many games and the Testfish screensaver.

Save your money, or invest it into something that won't piss you off like 3D glasses will.
