What are the best 2.0 speakers for around $40?

just out of curiosity, what is the difference? Does 2.0 not include a seperate subwoofer unit?

The #2 is for the number of speakers and the .1 stands for the subwoofer.

probably the jbl duets or the altec lansing v2120. I completely understand you about the speakers because I only use headphones for gaming and music. The only time I use speakers are to use my tv tuner. I use the v2120 at home and they're pretty clear. I also have a lot of jbl and harman kardon products, besides computer products, and they seem pretty reliable.
