Meebo.com for Instant Messaging
Logmein.com for remote pc control
VLC - for playing movies
Itunes - for music
Portable Open Office - for docs and spreadsheets

coming from the guy with 700gb of hdd space...u must have some app on there somewhere

for me, i can live without a computer and everything computer-related; i just don't want to. the one real thing i do need is Office for school and either firefox of IE for internet use.

Some sorta browser and office program and OS of course. Anything else is just for convenience purposes only.

700gb hard drives? because I am digital artist and video encoding.

An unbelievable amount. I just had a drive failure and reinstalled to a gargantuan new sata drive ( :heart: I have free space again! :heart: ). It took me two days of casual work to install all the little apps and UI tweaks I have :Q Still haven't gotten around to reinstalling games, except WoW of course *twitch*

Top picks though would be Firefox and Foobar2000. Most everything else I have, I could use something else in its place (ie. MovieMaker in place of Virtual Dub) but I can't live without those two.
