What are the AMD Athalon 64 cores to lookout for?

What are the progression of the AMD 64 ? Which ones are better then the next?

Is Winchester better then Venice?

I am looking to build a gaming rig. Plan on a little OC-ing of the proc. Using a 6800GT , Epox or Abit mobo , 2GB mem. I already have the Case and PSU (550 Watt) and HD and opticals drives covered.

Can someone help with a little info?

Venice for lowend. San Diego for high end. Newcastle if its socket 754. Clawhammer and Winchester are both obsolete unless you looking at mobile chips.

these names are really confusing me ... they are all athlon64?
I think i have a New Castle ... it's the 754 chip ...
does this chip suck ... cuz everyone has an X2 , venice or opteron
