What are some SETI type programs that use spare CPU time

Yeah, it sounds silly. But I've been reading way to many articles lately about asteroids crossing earth's path and how we are historically way overdue for a massive collision. That got me curious if there is a program similar to the ET detecting program SETI.

But beyond that, what other types of programs are there that use spare CPU time for the good of mankind???

theres a bunch though, RC5, SETI, ECCP are just some of the more common ones

hevnsnt is right, UD (cancer research) is awesome and worthwhile... compare that to finding the worlds largest prime number, it kind of pales in comparison.. But
SETI isn't so bad.. it's definitely not stale :)

Whatever your tastes, definitely don't let those spare cycles just go to waste.. Pick a project and drop by the distributed forums and you'll be in good company :)
Ask about other projects there.. someone had a link to all worldwide projects, but I don't have it bookmarked.
