I don't listen to the radio so it's hard to keep up. What songs are popular now. My rap mp3 mix is getting old.

lol...i was giving the radio the benefit of the doubt. To be honest, since i've had my CD/MP3 player installed in my car the only radio i've listened to is when i eject a disk and put in another.

What about going backwards and finding stuff you missed?

If you're a rap/hip-hop guy, you should check out stuff like A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul (assuming you haven't already).



Something new and definitely different: TV On the Radio It's (more or less) very stripped-down electronica with some excellent vocals. Worth a look, IMHO.

iloveme2: for new rap, if you are looking for major label, a lot of people are bumping Kanye West, Twista and Jay-Z's black album (with assorted remixes).

I don't listen to much of that. If you are looking for lesser known Independent label hip-hop there are some very good cd's that have come out recently. Here are a few (their older stuff is all quality too, i'm just listing the newest):

Living Legends - Creative Differences
Murs and 9th Wonder - 3:16
Illogic - Celestial Clockwork
Soul Position - 8 Million Stories
Brother Ali - Champion EP (this comes out officially 5/10 or so)
