What are some of the things an alumni association (computer science) should do?

I can't remember whether I've posted this already. Er, anyways - my fairly small university currently lacks an alumni association for the computer science program. I'm planning on the following:

- Establish alumni website with forum and pertinent info

- Feedback committee to the teaching heads of the dept. to keep curriculum current

- Work with professors, friendly companies to strengthen the internal job listing for graduates

- Organize public speaking events at local high schools by alumni to discuss the university's unique educational focus

- Start to nominate computer science grads for Alumni Award of Distinction in 2006; currently that one other bastard program is monopolizing it

- Get the word out about alumni benefits (auto insurance)

- Figure out how to send relevant press releases

- Get a copy of the composite class picture for 2005, 2006, etc

What else? What does your alumni assoc. do that's interesting or unique? I'd like to steal it. :p

I think I'll try to stay far away from the donations crap by keeping costs to a bare minimum. I'll simply enlist unemployed alumni to help me out in various tasks, it'll bolster their resume.

If it is exclusively CS, you could do something like puzzles for recognition in the next newsletter. Perhaps an easy cipher or something along those lines. Then you could increase the difficulty of the puzzles until you make one so hard that some random autistic kid cracks the encryption codes of the NSA but I digress.
