I always like hearing music from bands that I've never heard of before.

I like Liquid Gang, Seven Mary Three, and a song by Litehouse.

is Seven Mary Three really "little heard of"

And it all depends on what you've heard of. Take your average geek off the street, and they'd have never heard of most of what I listen to, but none of it's really all that obscure.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of punk
Dead Kennedys
Bad Religion
Ramones
Sex Pistols
Rancid
Misfits(sort of under the "punk" umbrella)
Operation Ivy

Downset(old school, but known to the older hardcore listeners), Sexart, Reveille, Dir En Grey, The Cult... some others I can't think of :)

Godflesh, scorn, god, ice, sweet tooth, quiot, techno animal, final (well, just about anything by Mick Harris, Justin Broadrick or Kevin Martin), adicts, gg allin, anti nowhere league, the meatmen, s.p.o.c.k., goldie, mike flowers pops, xymox, slowdive, my bloody valentine, cocteau twins, the orb, aphex twin, astral projection, carcass (older stuff), deicide, gus gus, the damned (especially Naz Nomad & the Nitemares), nurse with wound, big black, holy gang, front 242 (not so obscure), skinny puppy (again, not too obscure), will, stone roses (pop in the uk, but not the US), sam hain, bigod 20, the smiths, beautiful south, kitchens of distinction, travis. There are just too many to list.

Anyhow, most of the above listed bands are pop-esque bands in their particular genre of music. I just doubt that most of you listen to these types of music (tho I hope SOME of you do).

I'll second Bad Religion and Stabbing Westward. And I'll add Dream Theater.

You know, Bad Religion had a song on the soundtrack for Crazy Taxi on Dreamsast.

Here is a couple you probably haven't heard of..

Kiva -- good, but hard to describe other than with the word, pagan

and

Loreena McKennitt -- does celtic/irish folk music I guess is how you would describe it

I love those four Crazy Taxi songs over and over and over and over... Hehehe
