AND what defines a good quality LCD monitor. i've seen some 1000:1 ratio contrast, but the dot size is 0.294 mm (which is kinda of large) and refresh rates suck on LCD's..

(in CRT's i remember refresh rate, resolution, dot size, viewmatch color)

EDIT: oh, you're not done yet 🙂

EDIT2: oh, it's a repost....

Dell makes nice LCDs of all sizes.

A good one to look at is the Hyundai L90D+ also.

Samsung and refresh rates are different when it come to LCD's
Refresh rate has greater effects on CRT monitors, while flicker is less noticeable on LCD monitors, because LCD displays don't have a refresh per se.

 to L90D+ as well.. quality stuff, samsung panel 8ms

What do you plan to use the LCD for? Games? Movies? If you are into games then get a TN Panel if not then get one with an S-IPS like the Dell.

I was gonna say L90D+ as soon as I read the thread title, but I see others beat me too the punch. Consider this a ditto.

Samsung 910T or 935T. 1000:1 Looks freaking awesome and is very well priced. Games barely ghost at all.

Viewsonics are okay (I have one at work), but I love my LG at home. LG makes all the Dell monitors anyway. I have the LG 17" (L1710S) and it has all sorts of fun settings on it like Day/Night Text, Day/Night Photo, Day/Night Movie, etc. I would just get the 19" version of that. Plus, since LG is still entering the market as their own brand they tend to charge less than their competitors for a higher quality product.
