heh, sorry, it was too easy :D
I would sugjest you put on some calming music.(Enya, slow jazz, some aphex twin or enigma) and turn off the lights and just concentrate on the music. dont think about whatever is bothering you. If you can, it is best not to think about anything.

listen to some classical slow music (no marches :)), read a book, just sit down and do nothing...

and as in homer's case, stick a crayon up your nose...

Allow what disturbes you to explode and bring into memory of what it reminds you of.

Listen to any music that'll put you into your own little zone. Any music that takes you into another world. If you don't know of any music that does this to you, start expanding your horizons and listening to different genres :D

Go to mp3.com, look up "Amethystium", download it and play it continuously. Turn on a lava lamp, turn off all other lights, and chill out.

Here's a good way to relax:

Lie on your back in and get comfortable. Close your eyes. You can have some soft or relaxing music playing if you wish. Tense your toes and foot and hold it for a few seconds, inhaling as you do so. Then relax and exhale. Move up to your calves, tense and relax, your thighs, tense and relax, your chest, arms, shoulders, head, and finally, tense your whole body and relax it. Keeping your eyes closed, becaome aware or your surroundings. what do you hear? Smell? Think?

Wow... I didn't think anyone else did this! :Q This is one of the best ways to get completely relaxed... When I've done it before I get to the point where I feel I don't really even have to breathe, if I don't want to. :D It's a very cool feeling, and you come out of it totally mellow...

<< like meditation, whatever...i just don't have any idea how to do that. anyone have some tips? >>

screw the Bs your getting.

I meditate daily. and this is what works for me.

I usualy meditate at night just before bed most of the time I actully fall asleep in the middle of medtation. I put on some soothing calming music. , Enya, Sarah MachaLan (particlarly the Surferces CD or Fumbling into escatcy.), Or Enimga. I prefer Enimga 3. I cannot write the name of the cd becuase well it's in Latin... but it's the funky yellow cover where they look like they are wearing air filters on there heads.

anywho. The first massive part of meditation is relaxation of the mind. dispel and re-occuring thoughts (which sometimes takes a while) and learn to let your muscle relax with each re-occuring breath. once you have achived a sense of relaxtion. your mind will be calm. you must learn to feel your body, Fingers, toes, etc. your hair is already dead (which is why it falls out) so don't worry about that. when you get to a point that you are truely relaxed you will feel like your mind is open to the enegry that surrounds us in daily lives. your body will feel like rather it's sinking into your bed or whatever your laying on.

but you must be free of things that are tighly fighting. wear lose fitting clothes. or even in the nude if it works best for you.

I've taught several people that I know to meditate. it's alot easier in person.. the most unnerving one was... a woman who could only seem to relax nude. so wanted me to come over and HELP... I arrange to have another woman there to 'assit' becuase it made me a little nervous. I never saw anything, she stripped down climbed into her bed and pulled a sheet up to just below her neck..... needless to say she had almost 'sheer' sheets and I ws a little 'uncomfortable'

I find that if I have re-occuring thoughts that I am having a diffacult dispelling it's because it is somethng that is upsetting me. those are items that need to be taken care of. Meditation works because it puts your body in balance within itself. things that re-occure are throwing your body out of balance. and those items need to be delt with.

I meditate to put myself to sleep most nights because I sleep more restfully and peacefully.
