What are some good value for the money speakers?

I've got an alright 5.1 Pioneer receiver hooked up to my computer and I need some new speakers.

Bookshelf are probably fine, but maybe some tower speakers if they are priced right.

Is there anything for less than $200?

these wouldnt be too bad link1, or possiably these link2

but keep in mind that the only way to really find out what you like is to listen to the speakers before you buy, and getting the bass that rap usually has can be hard to get out of a pair of bookshelves.

New speakers - so you have some already?

What do you have now?

Are you looking for just one pair of speakers then? Do you have a sub?

If you are handy with tools, consider building your own speakers.
Check out madisound and partsexpress for parts, kits and forums for advice.
You could save a few bucks and get just the speakers you want.
Watch out though, speakerbuilding is very addictive.

The speakers I have now are an older pair of Pioneer speakers. They look like large bookshelf speakers and are rated for 30W at 8 ohm. The model is CS-100A. I can't find any other specs on them though.

If you want to put some effort into it, you can go out and listen to some stuff to see what you like.

Like Sampson said, Paradigm could work. Atoms should be around $200.
There are also some other retail brands that you could get to demo fairly easily (JBL, Infinity, Polk, Klipsch, etc)
On Ebay you can get JBL for pretty darn cheap factory refurb if you're willing to go used.
example

If used is ok with you, you could also check out audiogon, videogon, etc. for used stuff in your area that you could demo and get for cheap.
