What are some good, recent PC games to choose from?

I'm going shopping for PC games late in March, and I have COD4 and Crysis, so don't recommend those, and I am into RTS and FPS games, and I enjoy a good flight simulator, as well, providing it has combat in it.

What would be a list of good titles to choose from? I like single player, and am starting to get into multiplayer games as well.

Here's the games I already have that I can think of as of now:
COD 1, 2, 4
Crysis
FEAR and FEAR Extraction Point
Far Cry
Company of Heroes
IL2 1946
Rise of Nations and it's expansion pack

Sins of A Solar Empire, it's a pretty great RTS with 4X elements.

Bioshock, you might already have this but it's a pretty competent shooter, the presentation is top notch and the gameplay is varied and diverse, the levels are a joy to explore, some actually thought this was a masterpiece but in my opinion this game only falls in the category of "great".

World in Conflict, a good combat-focused cold-war strategy game.

Civilization IV, not an RTS or a FPS but an incredible and engaging 4X game.

if you like Fear .. and Extraction Point .. there is Perseus Rising
-more FEAR

i am not so sure you would like STALKER .. it IS "FPS" but there are many underlying RPG-elements ... if you can get past that, it is an incredible 'free roaming' experience as a shooter

I second WiC. Awesome game. Played the beta, bought the game...very good storyline...I wish it was longer though. But online play more than makes up for it.

Sadly, or not, all of my recent gaming purchases have been through steam, as my location/hardware really limits my choices. Until devs really target widespread markets, I think this will not change and they will continue to target the huge installed bases of consoles.

I loved FEAR but not everyone else does.

World In Conflict has my attention right now. Its like Act of War x10, and Act of War was pretty damn good.

BIOSHOCK!!!

Try the Warhammer40k series, they're RTS games, and play them in the chronological release order:
Dawn of War
Expansin - Winter Assault
Expansion - Dark Crusade
Expansion - Soulstorm
Everyone loved Dawn of War and Winter Assault, those were fantastic. Some people didn't like Dark Crusade as much, and some people were really disappointed with Soulstorm, but I thought both of the games were awesome (even if Soulstorm's new races aren't very fun). At least try out Dawn of War

KOTOR and KOTOR 2 if you'd like to try some action RPGs. Even if you don't like standard RPGs, you may enjoy these.

Medal of Honor: Airborne...

I haven't played it yet, but picked it up at Fry's for 20 bucks.... price was hard to pass up.

If you get Fear.. get the platinum edition. It has the 2 expansion packs and the original. I also picked this up at Fry's for $30.

Prey
Medieval 2: Total War
BF2 (a must if you want to get into multiplayer... no single player gameplay)

MOH: Airborne was a blast but I nearly beat it in 6 hours. Tons of stuff to do/unlock though. I also recommend Bioshock and the most recent Command and Conquer, which has an expansion coming later this month.

Games I reviewed and actually didn't mind playing were BioShock, actually played it till the end, something I don't do often ! WiC, I like RTS games, I liked the SP, MP is a little different, but generally fast paced and can be a lot of fun too. MoH: AirBorne wasn't bad either, BioShock is DEFINATELY better though. I liked NFS: Pro Street to some degree as well, being the racing fan I am. Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms is nice if you dig those kind of games. Oh, I got Frontlines: Fuel of War as well, not bad I'd have to say, especially if you have never played battlefield or ET: Qaukewars before. Ah, I think everyone forgot The Witcher, very nice RPG if you ask me. Portal/TF2 are pretty much must haves if you like shooters. How about Overlord ?

Plenty of decent games, that should have allready come down in price quite a bit.

Bioshock and Orange Box(TF2 and Portal)

Bioshock was like playing halfelife for the first time. It was a little rough getting started but is loads of fun once you get into it.

I like Team Fortress 2 a lot. Portal is First person puzzle game so if you like puzzles it's great. Everyone loves the ending of Portal.

no one seems to have named
Rise of Legends

it's a nicer sequel than Rise of Nations expansion pack.

and it's an independent game, no need to have Rise of Nations installed

but if you ask me, it just seems like a Revamp version of StarCraft 1

you can see TONS of similarities, specially the PROTOSS race in ROL

but never the less if you like RTS it's a fun game to play, just like Sins of Sola Empire

I wouldnt recommend FEAR at all to anyone, but thats just me. Also i wouldnt bother with cnc 3 unless your a really big cnc fan. The online portion of the game is dying im told, i quit ages ago and there was a good 1000 people on regularly, now theres around 200 people left. The story also brings absolutely no explanation for previous events and largely disregards them with only small links to the events in previous cnc games.

Its been mentioned already but ill reinforce it, get World in Conflict, its fun online and has a great campaign, very 80's orientated as well which i thought was awesome. Also company of heros + opposing fronts expansion are awesome games online, the campaign is OK, nothing outstanding but the online is a blast.

I'd ditch a PC halo... Eww... Microsoft does not take care of their ports. Replace it with a Supreme Commander Gold Pack (Both games for about $10 more than buying just one.)
