Bioshock is a must for everyone who calls themselves a gamer.

Oh and for PS1/PS2/PS3 owners...grab yourself a copy of Final Fantasy 7. Copies are going for $50 on Ebay and are worth EVERY PENNY! ;)

Wow, $50 for FF7? It's good but I don't think it's worth $50... In it's day it was a great title but I don't think it's worth more than $9.99 in a "reissue" kit or bargain bin kit today unless you are a serious FF junkie.

Is this thread about "single player only' titles or are you interested in games that have multi-player options but strong single-player modes as well?

Titan Quest & the Immortal Throne expansion are superb single player games with MP options. Command and Conquer 3 or Supreme Commander are good recent RTS titles, Bioshock and Oblivion are great RPG's, FEAR or Half Life 2 should also be on your to-play list if you like FPS games.

<shameless plug>

If anyone wants a serious deal on Morrowind + Oblivion w/ all of the expansion packs check out my FS thread, I don't even want to think about how many hours I logged in both games but they were both great single player titles.

If you even marginally like RTS, make sure you don't miss Company of Heroes. Holy crap is it good.

In the last thread like this, The Cronicles of Riddick and The Suffering are both great games at bargain prices...

Fallout 1&2 are both great.

If you can find Giants: Citizen Kabuto, it's REALLY fun and different. Most people are gaga over Psychonauts, and I liked it, but it was a little too platformy for my tastes... Plenty of "challenging" jumps onto moving platforms... Ugh... Very creative game tho!

Command and Conquer Gold is now a free download! Hours of great gameplay, LEGALLY, for nothing! http://www.commandandconquer.c...lt.aspx?id=61#NewsMain

Titan Quest/TQIT have a pretty good SP akin to Diablo 2, but are also multiplayer.

I agree. I enjoy this game and I can barely beat the CPU on easy (they seem to amass resources so fast!). Even with the fact that I can't play worth a damn, I still find myself firing it up and trying one more time to win a battle (so satisfying when I do, I'll tell ya).

I second the recommendations for Alpha Centauri (an excellent adaptation of the Civilization motif) and especially for Baldur's Gate II (one of the greatest RPGs of all time).

If you don't mind my asking, what's wrong with online multiplayer? My favorite game of all time, of course, is Unreal Tournament (1999), which is all about online multiplayer.

Far Cry, F.E.A.R., any version of Unreal Tournament, Max Payne 1 & 2, Quake 4, Doom 3, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Tony Hawk's Underground 2 & American Wasteland, along with any of Microsoft's flight simulators.
