I absolutely loved fallout & Fallout 2 best games ever I think. I am a fan of that 3rd person view and I like to build my character up, also futuristic story line and only controlling 1 character.

closest games i've seen that might even interest me are silent soldier but you don't find weapons, build up the character or control just 1 guy. dues ex 2, that's more like half-life and is 1st person though..

just looking for ideas... I also liked Diablo 2 because of the 3rd person, 1 character to control, you find weapons and that you build up your stats.

Ever play Jagged Alliance 2? It's turn-based, 6-character squads of mercenaries with modern weapons and armor that you can upgrade (9mm baretta, Mini-14, gernades, Talon launchers, LAWs etc.), and the mercs have skills that improve over the game. There's a decent storyline that feels a lot like a RPG though it's not as good as Fallout (what is?).

I'm enjoying Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic at the moment. It's seems huge, has 3rd person view and you build up your character stats. It's a new kind of game for me. Different than my favorite games like Dues Ex (original, the sequal too clausterphobic and buggy for my taste) and System Shock 2, but I'm liking it.

ahh.. you'll enjoy Star Wars: KotOR or Freedom Fighters then. It works like that, rd person, 1 character to control, you find weapons and that you build up your stats. but the story is more compelling (espcially SW:KotOR)
Currently i'm playing Beyond Good and Evil, it's a fun 3rd person action game.

Knights of the Old Republic rocks. The PC version has a bunch of technical glitches, I know because I own the PC version.

Will Half-Life 2 ever get here? The anticipation is killing me.
