I'm listening to Stairway to Heaven now and think it kicks ass! It's wierd since its like part of the 1% of my non hip hop mp3 collection, and it sounds really good, also after you name some good songs what are the best CD's? ( to buy for car stereo ;) )

To be more specific, here are all of them I have as MP3's currently: All Of My Love, Black Dog, Dancing Days, Heart Breaker, Hey Hey What Can I Do, Kashmir, Misty Mountain Hop, Over The Hills And Far Away, Ramble On, Rock and Roll, Stairway to Heaven, The Song Remains the Same, and Whole Lotta Love. I just got the Best of Zeppelin Vol 1 and 2 for Christmas, but I haven't gotten a chance to listen to them yet.

I did the same thing. I'm more of a techno guy, but listened to one of their songs almost by accident, and now I'm really really into them and classic rock :p

I used to work with a led zep fanatic.. Try Misty Mountain Hop, Going to California, black dog, dyer maker... If you like them, they're all good.

Led Zeppelin is my favorite band. There are so many truly great songs which they produced. Most of the popular ones have been listed. One of my favorites is Over The Hills And Far Away. :)

Over the Hills and Far Away is one of the most perfect rock songs I've ever heard. It's that goood. (OK, one of the others is Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Lightfoot). My other Zeppelin favorites are The Battle of Evermore and Babe I'm Gonna Leave. Now that I think about it, those are the most bluesy Zeppelin songs. Oh well, I'm an R&B fan anyway, what do I know.

Zep was built on blues. Then they evolved. Strange how they got labeled "heavy metal", considering they only recorded a handful of songs that barely fit that stigma...

But I digress...the Runes album was the most popular (I myself am on my fifth copy), but I prefer Physical Grafitti or the first album. Coda was a huge blunder by Atlantic, but Jimi had no control over that, so nobody can blame him.

Anyway, my advice is to stop collecting Zep songs, start collecting Zep albums.

:Q Zeppelin was my favorite band in high school, when I was really smoking weed a lot. lol

Some of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs -

No Quarter (possibly my favorite) - the version on "Houses of the Holy" was nice, but the live versions I have on bootlegs I like better, like the version on the soundtrack to "The Song Remains the Same"

Stairway (need I mention it?)
What is and what should never be
Immigrant Song - thats where I got my nickname for these forums come to think of it ("Valhalla I am coming...")
The Rain Song
Wanton Song
Achilles Last Stand - love that song

I loved the BBC sessions from Zeppelin, they were great.
