Neither are meant to be "hobbies," but ways of life. If you want to take up a sport version of the Martial Arts, try kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do, or Muay.

I play golf, and buy Home Theater stuff (but for a college student I would not recommend u make the mistake I have and get into Home Theater, its a very expensive hobby).

You mean Muay Thai . . . anything can be a hobby - if it can't be, how would anyone begin? Also, you forgot to mention Judo.

I'd still stick with the "fill up the rest of your time with vigorous masturbation. That should keep you busy" phrase, though. Get it? 'stick'? (Ewwwww) :D

not to get in a martial arts debate, but they *really* repeat ****really**** depend on the studio. So many come and go and most 'dojos' are in it for the money and know their students want that black belt.

Muay Thai is hardly a hobby, I knew two guys (twins actually) that would workout just kicking and hitting a tree (some kind of special thai tree, but it was hard none-the-less).

For hobbies I recommend the best one: Neffing Anand OT ;)

Smoking, drinking, and stealing.

Always fun when I do them.

but really, how about RC cars or planes.

Pretty cool stuff to get into but can cost a lot of $$.

BigDan, I thought you were a straight male! Hah!

Anyways, regarding the original post: spinning records, it's great when I have to wait for laundry... but i think your question is kinda like me asking ATOT "what should I be when I grow up?"

It all depends on your personal interests.

I got HEAVY into slot car building and racing awhile back. I even got into scratch built cars for awhile. (I have some cool stuff boxed away someplace)

It was a LOT of fun!

(then I got into computers, and kinda stopped going)

I should dig my stuff up and get back into it!

When I do, and get a digital camera (to replace the one that got ripped) I'll post some pics. My paint jobs and chassis designs got a LOT of complements
