What are some good CPU benchmarks

I just got my new A64 Newcastle and EPox 8KDA3J and 512MB kingmax PC4000 ram. I'll add another stick later. Since I just blew alot of this and a 6800 GT that isn't here yet haha...

Anyways I have been running this combo on prime95 tourture blend test for the last 7 hours or so and passing no problem so far. Anyways I am running it at 240 x 10 right now and have seen +2000 points over in 3dmark01 with the rig in my sig and that was even a much lower OC like 2.33 with HTT at 215 and multi of 11.

So what are some good benchmarks to see where i'm at? I know super_pi, Sandra, and 3dmark01 are decent. Are there any others that someone knows that I can try out???

THX

wups yeah thats what I mean Super_pi. I got 39 seconds for 1MB and 7min 1 sec for 8MB are those decent numbers?

Here's one for you:
  • Install WinZip 8.1
  • Find your old Unreal Tournament classic CDs
  • Defrag your HDD
  • Make a folder on the HDD
  • Copy the files from UT disc 1 into the folder on the HDD
  • Reboot to clear cache
  • edit: disable your antivirus software and other background tasks if it's safe to do so
  • Right-click the folder, choose WinZip > Add to Zip file..., choose Maximum compression, and begin timing as you click Add. Stop when the progress bar disappears.
You could use WinZip 9 but if you do, don't use the Enhanced Deflate option. You might think this is more of a HDD benchmark but it's not sensitive to differences in HDD in my experience. If you have at least a last-gen 7200rpm drive, that'll be enough to keep the CPU busy.

edit: use your system drive if you have more than one. Otherwise it'll copy the Zip file from drive to drive or partition to partition at the end.

Or there is SETIBench. Read the instructions; you need to go and download the S@H client from Berkeley to run it.

Lol, I just knew mechBgon was going to bring out the Winzip test. 🙂 I think I'm going to try that tonight myself.

Haha, I'm that predictable, huh? 😀

I forgot to mention it, but also disable antivirus software to allow the CPU to focus on the WinZip task. I'll edit that in there.

Thanks I don't happen to have an old UT CD actually 🙁 I did change the CPU interface to fastest rather than "normal" in the BIOS and ran another 8 hrs of Prime and got my 1MB Superpie down to 38 seconds though. I will try the UT20004 bot match in a bit.

I just downloaded the UT2004 Demo and there are no benchmarks to be found... There is a a benchmark folder with some folders and some .ME files that do nothing I checked all the other folders too and I see nothing of the sort like there was with UT2003....
