What are some good car forums?

Edmunds.com has everything under the sun. Most car forums that I know of are manufacturer specific....

I used to be on s2ki a lot, back when I was interested in buying an s2k. (and no link to that helmet thread!!!!).

Edmunds townhalls (both for general and model specific discussions) are very good. Some manufacturers have reps that will take part in discussions, assist in customer/dealer issues and answer general questions. The forum layout is a bit dated though. The subaru forum there is very lively. Back when I was going to work for Subaru, I actually got to meet most of those corporate guys. NASIOC is popular as well for the subaru crowd.

www.hardforum.com has about the only decent non-specific cars forum I have found sofar. There is also www.hardcars.com but it is pretty slow. Most of the specific car forums have a non-specific section but they are pretty biased towards whichever maker makes their car.

Same here (and the one I visit is really even model-specific). I really like it that way though, because there are lots of people who are very knowledgeable and can help you with problems about your specific car...

Depends what kind of car...I can understand for cars like the Civic or the Mustang...but over on s2ki, we're pretty good about fans of other cars.

meh, i just came back from the nissan altima forums.....they tore me apart when i said i made a remark about hating my 2001 altima.

vwvortex and b5forums are both more geared toward VW cars, but i believe both have general car discussion sections
