See, normal 'rich' people (we're not talkign superrich here, just semi-rich) try and blend in with the rest of the population. True, they may have nicer cars but in general the people seem to be the same. This is the way it is at my school were about 20% of the students drive Z3s and 25% drive 88 Accords; most of the other people fit somewhere in between and it is true that just from talking with people you can't tell them apart. That's the way it should be.
But Alpha uses his (parents) wealth to elevate himself. This reveals several problems with his mindset -
1) He must have something lacking in his life if he constantly has to resort to wealth to give himself some dignity;
2) That, or his parents do not have the wealth he says they do, and he just needs to make up this information to give himself a feeling that he is better than the other ATers.
What I don't understand is why he doesn't do anything else with his time besides hang out six hours a day in AT.
