Buy a cookbook. Don't go crazy, just buy a general one and look through there for recipes that sound interesting and try them out.

That?s the best suggestion.

One of the most comprehensive cookbooks I've seen, and currently own, is The Joy of Cooking.

Of course, it's like 1100 pages. It covers everything you'd need to know to make sauces, breads, desserts, pasta, how to cook meats, poultry, fish etc. A great book. I highly recommend it.
