What are some decent, but not too expensive tires for a 98 Lexus ES300?

Well, like the topic says, what are some decent tires it?

It is for my mom's car, so I'm just wondering what's a decent, well-rounded (no pun intended) tire that isn't too expensive.

the dealership usually puts bridgestone potenzas (RE92 I think), they're alright. I put Turanza LS-H's on and I like them a lot, read the reviews on tire rack.

Isn't the ES300 just a V6 Camry with a heftier price tag and an "L" in the circle instead of the toyota logo? I know for a fact they use the exact same engine.

UGH!! Please, not RE92's. I'm convinced they're designed ONLY to be quiet. How else can they have such low treadlife (190) and have such horrible grip?

The ES300 and Camry V6 share platform and powertrain, but they are constructed differently. The Lexus uses layered sound dampening sheet metal which makes it exponentially quieter. The Lexus is also built in Japan, while most Camrys sold in North America are built in the US.

As far as tires go, Lexus uses/recommends tires with soft compounds to reduce road noise. This means softer rubber that wears faster. You can use any tire of the correct size and rating (Z, H etc), just be aware that tires sold with 80K mileage warranties are very hard and make more noise on the road.
