In korea the number 4 is related to death and is a very unlucky number. Therefore all the older gerneration buildings and apartments you see in korea substitute the number 4 with F in the elevator buttons.

Yeah, Japanese don't say shi for 4 because of its meaning (death)... So, they replaced 4 with yon, and 7 with nana (it was shi-chi, so durr yeah).
