What are some Christian prophecies that didn't come true?

Prophecy is ****** stupid. If my future is determined, even just the ends not the means, what difference does it make what I do now? I have no free will, no independence. Everything will work out for the "prophecy" be it good or bad. IF we are talking the apocolypse and judgment, well that sounds pretty ****** ****** so I think ill just sit here and drink more beer because it's goign to happen anyways and I can't stop it.

Free Will > Any of your bible ******.

To the OP, yeah, you can't win this, so just admit you're wrong, cuddle, & make up (since I guess sex is out of the question).

Edit: to the poster above me- and this thread as a whole, I guess... As far as prophecies go, the only relevant one (aka one that still hasn't come true) is probably the apocalypse/end of the world. Most prophecies iirc were made in the old testament & fulfilled in the new.

Basically, we're arguing about whether or not the world is going to end soon...I"m saying no, but she says it will because of a prophecy...and I said not all prophecies have come true.

No where in the bible does it mention a date, and much of this neo-prophetic stuff is just hype used to scare more people into it. It does say that no one will know and it will come like a thief in the night.

Sorry, but I've gotta go with the Mayans before I go with the Christians as far as the world ending. They were predicting solar and lunar eclipses hundreds of years before the Christians ever realized that the Earth isn't the center of the universe. And, the Mayan calendar ends soon... (Dec 2012)

That's the kind of stuff that I think is just amazing, and unfortunate at the same time. Ancient civilizations had figured out so much useful information, without any of the technology we have today, or anything close, and then so much of it was then lost due to wars.

I love these free will arguments.
1) Humans have free will, God gave it to them.
2) Destiny means that everything is predetermined.
3) God knows everything which means that he knows what your free will is going to determine before you know it. He even knows it before you existed.
4) Therefore, we are given three options:
God predetermined your fate when he created the Universe.
God is in fact not all-knowing, which I believe contradicts the Bible.
God does not exist.🙂

Take your pick.
