I'm thinking of getting a PCI card from Matrox for my 2D display and all, and then using my 9800 for gaming. Is there some way I can set this in games to use the 9800?

Basically, I'd like to get better 2D quality and still have my 3D gaming from my Radeon 9800. Keep in mind this would need to be PCI. I don't have a price range, but list some of their cheapest cards that would still maintain their high quality 2D display

I don't think you can get PCI matrox cards any more. Try the for sale forums. I'm not even sure what the last PCI card made by matrox was. Maybe the Millenium or Millenium2?

People charge an arm and a leg for PCI matrox cards :(

Personally I would just stick with your 9800 for 2d as well. 2 graphics cards have never sat pretty for me, it always adds a few issues.
