What are pink slips?

If you are young then its your permission to take the driving permit. If you have a job, its when you get fired.

I'm talking about ones for cars?

If you're talking about The Fast and the Furious, it's your title.

Edit: To specify, your CAR title. If you "race for slips", you race for each others car. Winner gets the loser's car. Not practical at all in reality, unless there is a SECRAT UNDERGROUND CAR RING with a bunch of rich japanese kids who pimp out cars only to lose it to each other.

That means the TITLE! Don't ever race for "pinks." If you lose, you'll be expected to sign over the title (and the car and anything in it, including your girlfriend.) to the victor.

If you WIN, the other guy will pull a gun and shoot you before he gives you his ride.

IOW, stop street racing, Rice Boy!!!! 😛

Pink slip in a car is the car's title.. it proves that you own the car.. if you have the pink slip under your name... its an offical document that ties your car to you. Keep it safe.

Replacements can be got but its a pain.

So I guess the DMV gives this to you, right?

And to transfer the car you give the pink slip + a deed to transfer or something?

Are you gambling with your parents car?

Just curious. . .

"Race for Pink slips" means race for title of car, or vehicle.

When I lived in Long Beach CA my shipmates would race their rice rockets for slips along huntington beach blvd and down near Balboa. They would race for slips or $500.00. If they didn't have the $500.00, winner kept the loser's bike until they paid up. So really, it was just a $500.00 race with drama thrown in. My roomy won a few races. Only once did he win and "own" the losers bike (normally only cash changed hands). Funny thing though, that night we hadn't brought a truck or trailer down so my buddy finally let the guy off for $100.00 + the guys helmet because he didn't have anywhere to put the bike and couldn't leave it in town over night 😀
