What are people's thougts on Thin Client networks?

My boss at the IT department of my company has been mumbling about thin clients alot recently and she seems highly interested in setting up her network for thin client. Just curious if anybody here has any experience with thin clients and could tell me how they felt about them?

Basically IMHO it allows an IT department to focus their resources on strategic development rather than wallowing in "how do I make this sweeping change to desktops to support a new application/technology"

Before I left my dump of a job and got a better one. One of my goals was to move our CS dept onto Thin clients.

I didnt get very far into the research because it was basically shot down before it ever left the hangar. But I thought for people who dont require a lot of horsepower, dont travel, and just basically drone at their cubicles all day it is an awesome solution.

Everything is managed centrally which helps a lot when it comes to installing apps. Plus you have everything at one location so instead of having to get patches out to client machines via SMS and then follow up with borked clients. You can simply do it at the server.
