I'm trying to follow a discussion at the Home Theater Forums with subject Such a thing as high quality CATV wire?. On the 2nd page (of 2), a particularly interesting post mentions OTA channels and I need an explanation of this acronym. I'm trying to make up my mind what to buy for CATV cable. I'm using an antenna now but want to look forward to the day I have HDTV and satellite. Thanks.

Edit: I just got the idea it refers to "off the air" channels. Well, fine. That's ALL I get right now... Anyway, ideas about cable would be appreciated. I bought some quad shield RG-6 at Home Depot, but it's copper covered steel core and probably aluminum braid shielding, says nothing on the cable (black only) and is branded Carol. - C5785.18.01, and I have a feeling I should bring it back and get something else. A guy at HTF said he got good results with: "RG6QS from home depot, branded by 'leviton'. It's got a solid copper core, foamed dielectric. 500ft spool for $60. " I don't think I saw that when I was at HD.

No, no, no, not "off the air", it's "over the air".

OK, that's kinda semantic though, isn't it? :)
