what are optimal times and lenghts to post on ebay?

Wondering if you guys have any tips on when to post and how long to run auctions for. Thanks for any advice.

if its a common item that there are many of on ebay, yer better off to go with a 3 day auction.. and wait till theres no others of the same type within a few hours.. if its an item that not so many people would want.. go longer...
