What are necessary upgrades that should be made here?

Hey everybody, I was just wondering if you could give me some input as to what you think I should upgrade in this computer to give me a little boost of power, speed and overall performance.

CPU: Athlon 64 3800+
Motherboard: MSI K8NNeo2
RAM: 2 gigs (ddr2 i think?)
Graphics card: Nvidia 6800 GT

I am thinking about changing the case from a standard alum case to something a little bigger and a little more quiet, something like the lian li. But as far as components go I have no idea what to upgrade. And if you could suggest parts to upgrade to that what be great, thanks.

you could do get an SLi board, but only if you don't already have PCIe and have lots of money. If you were to upgrade anything, it would be your GPU to a 7900GT.

at 2 gigs of ram (ddr...there is currently no ddr2 available for the amd cpus i think) it doesnt matter a whole lot what kind of ram it is but ill ask anyway... what kind is it? You could upgrade the motherboard to nforce4. asus is pretty good from what I hear, go with the a8n-e if you dont want SLI. The 6800gt is still powerful enough to play most if not all games on the market 2day... if you feel the need to upgrade, i would get a new cpu and vga heatsink.

I have a very, very similar system and I'm not planning to upgrade until I can do a Conroe/DX10 upgrade in the fall. I can't crank FEAR and Oblivion up all the way, but they are both playable with most of the eye candy. There just isn't anything driving me to upgrade right now. If there is something really driving you to upgrade today, then get a 939 PCIe motherboard and a new video card.
