What are good "Professional" monitors/rendering cards for CG & animation?

I need a good monitor and rendering card for CG and animation. I've tried an NEC FP955 19", but it had some problems and isn't going to cut it. I'd like a truely "professional" line monitor that is based on a flat "Trinitron" type screen. My budget is around $600 on a monitor, so that is limiting me to 19". Although I probably should spend the extra for a 21" so I'll consider 21" too. Any suggestions on 19" or 21" monitors?

What kinds of monitors do companies like ILM and Dreamworks use when making their films and special effects? What kind of rendering cards do they use?
